A Curious Boy exhibition shown during Milan Design Week 2019 in an old workshop on via Fulcorina.

In the year 2019 a workshop was discovered in the heart of Milan. Its doors had seemingly not been opened for over 60 years. Inside, found objects and furniture had been constructed from rare and unknown raw materials. Many pieces were built with vibrant and colorful wood, likely sourced from extra-terrestrial trees.

Scientists are continually trying to deduce what exactly occurred in this curious space. Through the analysis of letters, drawings and the objects, it was ultimately determined that a certain gentleman, called Severin Munch-Prokorny, severely traumatized after the horrors of World War II, dreamed of a humane and better life on a different and distant planet. To this end, he assembled a group of scientists, designers, engineers and craftsmen to carry out his plan. He established this clandestine workshop in Milan that was dedicated to designing and building furniture for the distant planet.

The workshop was very creative, with prototypes of all kinds: tables, wardrobes, armchairs, vases, wallpapers, a teleportation room and even sketches for an outer terrestrial cookbook. It seems that the laboratory was suddenly and unexpectedly closed. The objects within remained in perfect condition for many years, only recently unearthed by chance. Nobody knows what happened or why.
